6 Things i do to Prepare for a productive morning

There’s this saying that if you fail to plan you plan to fail. That’s the one quote that stays close to me when it’s the night before and all I want to do in crawl in bed, pop 2 Ashwagandha gummies, and start counting sheep. It can be easy to have that ‘I’ll do it in the morning’ mentality but I know just how much I tackle each day and spending 30 mins the night before to give myself a head start on the next day is something I’ve started doing and myself has thanked me for it. Here’s how I prep for a busy day head

I. Create a to do list

I’m very nostalgic when it comes to creating lists. I have a list for everything – blog post ideas, meal prep for the week, random thoughts. I’m a very pen and pencil kinda girl. Creating a to do list the night before lets me know how busy I am going to be the next day and adjust my wakeup time to accommodate my list.

II. Pull Outfits

Going to the gym in the morning? I lay out EVERYTHING to get there – joggers, shoes, air pods, fill water bottle. Not leaving the house to workout – I will still lay out some chic loungewear. Girls’ night? Pull out AND TRY ON the outfit (yes I try on everything because we have a tendency to think the Covid weight didn’t affect our mom jeans and their fit – yes sis, it very much did). You get where I’m going with this? I don’t want to have to spend 20-30 mins finding something to put on – the yesterday me already did that.

III. Plan Meals

I use to be that person that planned for meals for the entire week – then I had a bump in the week and that whole planning went out the window. Now, I just focus on the next day. Can I make breakfast in the morning, or do I need to be out the door in a certain time? Working remotely has allowed me to make most of my meals so it’s a task of looking in the freezer, seeing what works, and moving that meat to the fridge to thaw in time.

IV. Skincare

I know you may seem to think ‘uh, I already take off my makeup at night!’ I know that but do you give your skin a little TLC at night? A like to wait a do face/sheet masks at night – especially if I’ve had on makeup all day. It’s a great way to give yourself a little self-love, relax, and sip a little chilled aqua (be bougie and put in a few sliced cucumbers)

V. Gratitude Journal

I purchased this 6 min journal that has morning and evening entries. Takes only 2-3 mins and has helped decompress from the busy day and set intentions for the next day

VI. Shower

On those days I’m not gymming in the morning, I get a night long shower the night before. I’m NOT a morning shower person unless I’m drenched in sweat from a workout

Well, I think that’s about it guys. What some things you do the night before to set you up for success the next day?
